Institute of Aeronautics & Engineering Common Entrance Test is (IAE-CET) Promoted by Sha-Shib Group of Institutions, The Largest Group in South Asia for Imparting training in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a national level Entrance Test being conducted for admission in various courses in Aviation Industry viz. Commercial Pilot License, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Cabin Crew/Airhostess, Ground Staff etc. run by the institutes under SSGI. This exam is conducted with a motive to identify the deserving candidate for the admission in the courses opted by them and to provide scholarship in case they get selected. Scholarship provided by SSGI for the courses run at its different campuses, across the India.

  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering :

    Aircraft Maintenance Engineer also called “AME” is a very important position in the operation department of Aircraft Maintenance which is mandated by DGCA under the Aircraft Act 1934 and rules There on to be appointed by all the organizations engaged in aircraft flying and it’s maintenance like Airlines, FTOs MROs, etc. to carry out and certify all kind of Aircraft Maintenance.

    As per rules laid by the govt. of India “No Aircraft can take off without the certification from qualified Maintenance Engineer” To become an AME one has to undergo AME course from a DGCA approved Institute. These recognized institutes teach the approved syllabus of DGCA & conduct internal examinations for completion of the course. All AME institutes are allotted limited no. of seats in the categories B1 (Mechanical) and B2 (Avionics). No AME institutes can induct more students than that allotted by DGCA. Aspiring Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who have obtained the licence can start working with private/ government airlines.   • Difference between Aeronautical Engineering and Aircrfat Maintenance Engineering:

    Basic difference between the two is that Aeronautical engineering deals with the manufacturing and designing of Aircraft and it’s parts and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s main purpose is to certify the Aircraft for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul.

  • What is Dual Programme ?

    Institute of Aeronautics and Engineering is approved by D.G.C.A Govt. Of India, under CAR 147(Basic) for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering dual programme i.e. student can opt for Bachelor Degree in Technology/Science or Management in addition to this AME Course.

    In our dual program, students will be pursuing the course of their choice i.e. Graduation from Govt. approved college as well as students will undergo the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course approved by DGCA, Govt. of India under the rules specified by CAR 147 (Basic) during the course period of Graduation. By doing so, every student will be able to complete a degree in Engineering/Science/Management along with the AME modules. In short after successful completion and passing of all the examinations as prescribed by the regulatory authority, the candidate will be able to obtain the Degree in Bachelor of Technology/ Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Business Administration/ Bachelor of Computer Application and Certificate of Recognition in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.

    Also, after acquiring the necessary maintenance experience and DGCA exams/procedures as mentioned in CAR 66 he/she will be able to get the AME License.
